Type of construction: Surgical Unit
State of work: Completed
Date of completion: October 2021

For the "Santa Maria Maddalena" hospital in Occhiobello, in the province of Rovigo, Operamed has built a new surgical unit including two prefabricated operating rooms and accessory rooms. The total surface area of the surgical unit is 143 square meters, in which the Operamed staff has put the best of Truespace technology into play. The wall coverings of the operating rooms are made of Corian with screen-printed images on glass panels and 2mm lead sheet for X-ray shielding. The cladding in the accessory rooms, which consist of the induction/wake-up area, corridor and relaxation room, is different.

Here, galvanized steel colaminated with antibacterial PVC film was used, while LED strips on the floor were used to ensure pleasant safety lighting. The management of the lighting scenarios is made possible by the touch control panel that is also connected to the Building Management System of the surgical unit. In order to divide the areas, different types of doors have been installed: manual hinged and sliding doors, automatic sliding doors, glass doors with dimming film. The false ceiling is modular and airtight while the furniture (cabinets, pass-throughs, surgeons' scrub sinks), are in stainless steel.
